Keep on Floodin' the Earth

I remember when Elder Bednar told the world to "Sweep the Earth as with a Flood". There I was, sitting at my computer screen in the library in Portland, Oregon with tears running down my face, realizing again how important it was that Christians can help spread the word that Jesus is the Christ. While I was watching the video, Because of Him, I felt that I had a new sense of urgency to go meet everyone out there and tell them about my love for the Savior.

As a missionary at the time, I was able to carry that video with me everywhere. Everyone I met saw that video and heard my testimony. I was so adamant about it. Elder Bednar's voice echoed in my invitations to the members as I spoke of the importance of sharing what we know and love with our friends and families online. That talk spoke to me.

Being home for 2 1/2 years, it's incredible how much criticism and evil there is on social media. There is so much hate. I have to remind myself of Elder Bednar's call to "sweep the Earth" with good and uplifting things. I appreciate his words and the example my friends show me of how to use goodness with social media. Even to this day, I look back on my mission and the time I had to think about using social media for good.
